1850 and 1860 Census - Guadalupe County

SPECIAL NOTE: Guadalupe County was the county name when Polley first obtained property in the area.  The property today is in Wilson County which was formed in 1860 from Bexar County.  Over time county boundary lines changed.  This can be even more confusing as Polley owned land in a variety of other counties through the years.

Bexar County was the original county which was divided up into 128 counties. It was formed in 1836 from the Old Mexican Municipality established in 1718.   Guadalupe County was formed from Bexar in 1846 and Gonzales in 1846.  Karnes County was formed from Bexar County in 1854.  Gonzales was formed in 1836 from the Old Mexican Municipality.  Wilson County was formed in 1860 from Bexar and Karnes.
