....consideration concerning the possible age of the structure was its location along the northern edge of the Martinez 1/3 League tract, obtained at auction in 1819.

.....in the historic period the property was initially part of the common lands of Mission Espada, and remained in that capacity from 1731 until the lands were secularized and then auctioned by the Spanish Government in 1819. In that year, Leonicio (also referred to as Dionicio) Martinez obtained the property from the Spanish Government. 

....collective evidence resulting from the on-site investigations, archival research, and artifact analysis, strongly favor the likelihood that the structure was built by the Terrazas family when the property came into their control in 1895. The artifacts also indicate that the structure was only occupied during the period of the Terrazas family’s ownership (circa 1895 to no later than 1923).
