History of the William Votaw – Scott James House

The Votaw – James House is named for two of its most prominent resident families. The house itself used to stand isolated on the Mission Road near the small community of Berg’s Mill. The house is a large two story structure with a shallow hipped roof. There are small pediments on each side of the four sides of the roof. The house is of stone; the front façade has well shaped rectangular stones set in regular courses, while the back and rear sides are much less carefully laid. Read More
