Heidemann Complex, Well #4 Overview NAE Oblique, Roll 1 Pic 20, 4B.jpg

The Heidemann Ranch, at 26090 Toutant Beauregard Road in northwest San Antonio, Texas, is one of several properties in the vicinity representing 19th century settlement by German immigrants, and features contributing properties dating from the 1860s through the 1950s. The most prominent 19th century historic resources include a dogtrot plan log house with an infilled stone central bay, a stone barn with frame additions, a stone smokehouse, a capped well, and the Heidemann family cemetery. Twentieth century resources include the 1937 stone ranch house and a postwar asbestosshingle-sided workshop built entirely of salvaged ammunition crates. At the southern portion of the property is Pecan Creek. The property overall has a high degree of integrity, and retains an important collection of rural vernacular from the mid-19th through mid-20th centuries. Read more
